PAX 2008: Get Your Girlfriend into Gaming
At another fountainhead-attended Kiss of peace panel on Sunday, Phoebe panelists tackled the subject of girlfriends and gambling, discussing the factors that some attract and repel women from games and gaming culture. The panelists, all avid gamers, were Nicole Sixpence, Film director of PR and Marketing for Foundation 9 Entertainment; Shelby Willis, a producer at Pipeworks Software; Christa "TriXie" Phillips, Xbox Live Community Coach; Jane Pinckard, Editor-in-Gaffer at GameGirlAdvance.com; and Cori Roberts, editor of Gameinatrix.com.

Later, the panelists delved into the subject of games designed and marketed toward girls. "Moms aren't exit to buy games for slender girls if they put on't know they're meant for them," noted Kenneth Roberts, explaining the proliferation of "pink" games for the under-12 set.
The panelists besides agreed that the brand sometimes intended to gaming is a significant deterrent for would-be female gamers, and that women and girls are much Sir Thomas More promising to get into games if they're introduced to them by their female peers.
